Bishop Jeff Barrow
Bishop Jeff is looking for people interested in joining him in the bishop's delegation to our companion synod in the Diocese of Meru in Tanzania. The bishop and a group of 8-14 will travel around the diocese October 13-23, 2010. The visit will include meetings with the bishop of the Diocese of Meru, visiting the Makimura Farm, Ailanga Junior Seminary and various congregations, hospitals and clinics. It will also visit Tanzania National Game Parks, showing guests and the world that Tanzania is proud of its management of wild life. August 1 worship at Immanuel in Cedarburg
There will be a simple service at Florist Ave at 9:00 led by Pastor Sue Lindberg.
Others will join Immanuel Lutheran and Incarnation Lutheran at Immanuel for worship, picnic and games. Contact Pastor Carol to arrange rides to Cedarburg. Rides will be available for worship at Immanuel at 9:00 or from Florist Avenue Lutheran after worship on Sunday morning to arrive for the picnic and games.
Northwest Trading Post
Every 3rd Monday of each month, the Northwest Trading Post distributes free children's clothing for families who need it. This is located at our Partner Congregation, Holy Cross Lutheran in Menomonee Falls, just south of Appleton Avenue on Pilgrim Road. Hours: 1:00-2:30 and 6:00-7:00.
Participants are asked to bring one or two non-perishable food items for the local food pantry in exchange for the clothing.
The Fall Theological Conference will be held on Monday and Tuesday, September 27 and 28 at the Green Lake Conference Center. Speakers will be Dr. Thomas Long, Professor of Preaching at Emory University and the Rev. Richard Thieme, chreater of ThiemeWorks and a former Episcopal priest.
